Kashiwa Reysol claim high-scoring encounter

Kashiwa Reysol defeated Shimizu S-Pulse 5-3 in an enthralling encounter in the J-League on Saturday.

The visiting Kashiwa outfit opened the scoring from the penalty spot on 33 minutes through Leandro Domingues before Genki Omae equalised four minutes later.

Shimizu came out the stronger side in the second half as Naohiro Takahara s faint flick put the hosts ahead eight minutes after the interval.

Alex Brosque netted his sixth goal of the season and doubled their advantage just after the hour mark but it would not be a night to remember for the home faithful.

Down to nine men, Shimizu started to tire and Kashiwa began to make their advantage count as Masato Kudo pulled a goal back on 75 minutes.

A fumble from goalkeeper Akihiro Hayashi saw the visitors equalise with two minutes remaining courtesy of Wataru Hashimoto.

And two minutes into added time former Celtic midfielder Koki Mizuno stepped up to put Kashiwa in front.

It was left to Kudo to bag his brace and put the icing on the cake, with the victory sending them up to fifth.

Leaders Vegalta Sendai meanwhile were hoping the trip to Nagoya Grampus would bring them another victory but had to be content with a share of the spoils.

The draw would prove costly as Sanfrecce Hiroshima moved to the top of the table.

A Hisato Sato double inspired the 2008 Japanese Super Cup champions to a 3-0 victory over Kawasaki Frontale, moving ahead of Vegalta on goals scored.

The J-League returns to action on July 28th with the new leaders making the trip to seven-time winners Kashima Antlers.
